ApprenticeshipCentral Website 

The ApprenticeshipCentral website is the only free national website aiming to better match job seekers with suitable apprenticeship vacancies through job matching tools and providing detailed apprenticeship information. The new website offers customers a range of tools to help them select, compare and apply for apprenticeship vacancies online. The website includes profile and resume building tools, filtering capabilities, useful resources and ways to save and share jobs and profiles.

Call for Vast Arts - New Board Member

Vast Arts is currently seeking a new Board member and invite you to consider taking a more active role in our organisation.Can you attend 3 or 4 teleconference meetings per year and reply to a couple of emails weekly? Do you have an interest in the arts and would like to see the arts become an integral part of the lives of people in western Queensland? Would you like to help promote our unique arts and culture to a wider audience? You might not be an artist yourself but have other knowledge, skills and enthusiasm which will help make these things happen.

Coming up on Ivory Street 

We received an excellent response to our recent call for Expressions of Interest for Ivory Street exhibitions. We will be accepting further Expressions of Interest on an ongoing basis, and another official call for applications will take place later this year. 
 

Call for Expressions of Interest - Street Reads 
 

The Creative Communities team at Brisbane City Council is calling for Expressions of Interest from artists, musicians and graphic designers for the 2013 Street Reads project. The selected artists will work with three writers to create a 'choose your own adventure' in Brisbane city and will be paid for their contribution.

 

Wine, Cheese and Ancient Art 

We are proud to open the premier collection of Mediterranean Antiquities in Queensland to the Brisbane community. During this event you will have the opportunity to sketch and photograph two thousand year old works of Ancient Art. Objects on display include a portrait head of Aphrodite, a replica Hellenistic torso, 6th Century BC Athenian pottery and a range of Roman and Greek sculptural pieces.
A keynote presentation will be given by Dr Victoria Bladen from the School of English, Media Studies and Art History.

Buderim Public Art Opportunity - Call for EOIs 

The Buderim Foundation is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitable artists for the design, fabrication and installation of public artwork celebrating Buderim’s philanthropic spirit. NICA Seeking Artists to Exhibit at Maroochy Arts and Ecology Centre 

Noosa Integrated Catchment Association is seeking expressions of interest from artists who wish to exhibit from 28 July to 3 August. EOIs close 30 April.

The amazing Floating Land Program has been launched!   And we're still looking for volunteers! 

 

smartArts +

smartArts+ and the Creative Collective are calling for expressions of interest from Sunshine Coast based visual artists to stage an exhibition in the Creative Collective office, Maroochydore. The successful artist will gain: free exhibition space at the Creative Collective Office for up to a three month period; and cash and in-kind support from the Creative Collective to hold an opening launch with catering, music, production, promotions and more. Life Art Worldwide 

Life Art Worldwide is an event purposefully designed to recognise and promote visual artists from all around the world. $25 000 worth of awards are on offer to artists exhibiting at Life Art Worldwide. Life Art Worldwide is helping artists bring their dreams to life. For 10 days (25th Oct – 3rd Nov 2013) Life Art Worldwide brings the best publishers, galleries and collectors in the industry face to face with over 100 established and emerging artists, creating the world’s finest contemporary art marketplace on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. Artists working in painting, drawing, printmaking, photography and sculpture are invited to apply.

 

Woodford Folk Festival ArtBars

Expressions of interest are being sought from artists across the boundaries of visual arts and design. The Woodford Folk Festival (WFF) is calling for artists to propose and fabricate art installations that will invent a temporary site-specific response to two Woodford Festival bar areas. The Community College of Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast Community College is a fantastic new intitiative set to launch in April of this year. Legends of Redcliffe Museum Art Gallery at the Palace Hotel

James Cook University - Umbrella Studio Printmaking Facilities 

When the University decided to close its printmaking workshops, artists joined together to open the studios for community use. The idea was to house the presses in a professionally managed space that was accessible to the community, students, teachers and any number of arts professionals. 

 

Hallway Art, Lake Kawana Community Centre 

Hallway Art, a collection of creative works by local artists displayed in the hallway of the Lake Kawana Community Centre, is always looking for new artists and offers the chance to display your artwork for free for a one month period. Venue is open for viewing Monday to Friday from 9am - 5pm.

Paddington Substation exhibition space

Hands on Art is returning part of the Paddington Substation to exhibition space and is currently receiving proposals for the space for 2013. Hands on Art is a not-for-profit Community Arts group devoted to encouraging society to be more inclusive, healthier, happier and more beautiful through creativity and respect for our environment. Metcalfe Gallery at BIA 

The Metcalfe Gallery is calling for proposals from artists wishing to exhibit in 2013. The gallery is a well-appointed contemporary exhibition space located in suburban parkland close to the Brisbane CBD. There is ample parking and the gallery is easily accessed by public transport.
