Artiz Innovative

Join us at The Edge, State Library of Queensland, for this art intensive program! Explore areas of cutting-edge artistic practice blending art, science and technology. Learn about innovative materials, and experiment with groundbreaking approaches to art making.

Venue: The Edge, State Library of Queensland.
                Accommodation is provided on a twin share basis near
                State Library of Queensland for residential students.
Cost:     Residential students – $330 for three days (3 nights), fully inclusive*
                Day students – $220 for three days**

* Includes full board and lodging, workshops and materials
** Includes lunch, workshops and materials

Electro-graphic Wallpaper

Design and fabricate a woodblock for printing onto wallpaper. Working with thermal reactive inks and paper, you’ll use your woodblock to print onto wallpaper and other materials that will then react to hot and cold!

Wearable Tech

Learn creative ways electronics can be integrated into clothes and accessories. Create unique pieces of wearable, interactive technology using code, sensors and Arduino. Advanced options will be available for returning students.

Growable Textiles

Fungi, bacteria, slime, algae – microorganisms are the exciting new medium emerging from collaborations between artists and bio scientists. Learn how to grow your own textiles from kombucha tea. Experiment with moulding, cutting, sewing and dying to turn your organic textile into fashion or art. Advanced options will be available for returning students.
