About the Facilitator

Claudia has worked as a professional artist for 15 years and has extensive experience in designing and creating art for residential, commercial, private commissions, public areas, school-based residences and workshops.

Colour, texture and movement are keynote elements of Claudia’s mixed media practice, and she loves creating art from recycled materials that challenge people’s conception of art, fashion and recycling. Her practice is heavily influenced by the natural environment, incorporating traditional craft techniques into the different mediums she works with. Over the last five years, Claudia has expanded her practice into Wearable Art,  and was the artist behind the Townsville Cinderella Dress, made from an old ‘Welcome to Townsville’ vinyl banner, which received national attention upon its debut.
