Reframe toured to Moranbah
|
|
|
Reframe
toured to Moranbah between 26 July and 13 August, 2023.
As part of this tour, Moranbah State High School
hosted a Reframe Exhibition Workshop with artist Nancy Brown.
This workshop provided students with the
opportunity to engage with an experienced artist and learn more about
the QRAA exhibition.
Students visited Coalface Art Gallery in the
morning and returned to school to participate in a hands-on mixed media
workshop and informative learning activities during the afternoon.
When speaking of the workshops, Nancy Brown stated
that "the students were great and responded positively to the
gallery visit. I think that really shows in their artwork. I asked them
to stand near the artwork that resonated with them and read the poem
beside the artwork. It was a great way to begin the workshop because
they were very open to explore their own ideas through the different
techniques."
Nancy Brown is an Artist and Printmaker who was
trained at the National Art School. She explores printmaking and
traditional textile design skills on textiles, sculptural work,
jewellery, ceramics, and painting.

By Request workshops at
SPARK Ipswich 2023!
|
|
|
A special spotlight for our By Request Program in
July, we had the opportunity to send four of our amazing visual art
facilitators to attend SPARK Ipswich:
a city-wide event of regional significance celebrating the people,
places, arts, and culture of Ipswich.
On offer were a range of family-friendly art
experiences strengthening connections and developing sustainable art
practices. These workshops were widely enjoyed by the community during
their ‘Immerse’ event.
We were delighted that artist Kylie
Harries could share a wonderful line-up of fun-filled workshops
with ‘Corn Cob Characters’ and ‘Action Art’ a feature of the festival’s
creative activities for the young at heart!

to conduct a 2-day intensive program designed for early-career
artists and arts workers at the Pine Rivers Art Gallery.
The program connected peers to collaboratively
resolve a professional CV, artist biography and statement and online
