 By Request Program

In a series of workshops over eight weeks during term 1, By Request Program Facilitators, Nicole Crosswell and Sue Loveday worked sequentially with students at YMCA Vocational School Kingston. Nicole shared foundational drawing techniques like observation skills, still life, portraits and botanicals. Sue followed on with sessions exploring various jobs that utilise these skills. Students had fun experimenting with fashion, tattoo and fabric design methods to evolve their creations.

This quote from the organising teacher strongly reflects the core of our By Request Program, “Nicole and Sue were a perfect fit for our organisation and the young people we cater for. We had consistent attendance in this program and the young people that participated grew closer and have now formed a lovely friendship circle which all started with connections made in this program. It was wonderful to see what is possible with art and how anyone can do it no matter their skill level. Watching the young people learn to take risks and overcome their fears was very fulfilling.”

Flying Arts By Request team are ready to work with you to deliver meaningful programs in person or online that meet the specific needs of your school or community group.  For more information, please contact the team via email
