We begin this year with the exciting announcement
that Flying Arts is one of the successful recipients of the latest
Touring Queensland Fund recently announced by Arts Queensland. This
funding will enable Flying Arts to tour the winners of the 2022 Queensland
Regional Arts Awards (QRAA).
This touring exhibition, Reframe,
will showcase the work of the 8 regional Queensland artists and will
coincide with the regional programs of Queensland Music Festival, Opera
Queensland, and Queensland Symphony Orchestra, to create
multidimensional arts experiences in Charleville, Longreach, Blackall,
Moranbah, and Cairns. The exhibition will grow the profile of the
participating artists by creating opportunities for future work,
networking and learning alongside a suite of public programs thanks to
the support of this fund.
Flying Arts’ professional development program in
2023 includes a variety of webinars, consultations and intensive
workshops for artists, arts workers, young artists and their educators.
We are continuing to prioritise regional delivery through exciting
collaborations such as The Visual Field at
Rockhampton Museum of Art and accessible online programs like our
upcoming session on Creative Contracts with
Arts Law.
Paint the Town, the touring exhibition of the 2021 Queensland
Regional Art Awards, will continue to tour in 2023. Regional towns of
Bundaberg, Mundubbera, Miles, Roma, Injune and Warwick will host this
fantastic exhibition with the assistance of Museums & Galleries
Queensland as our touring partner and the generous support of Arts
Queensland’s Touring Queensland Fund.
The By Request Program has hit the ground running
in 2023 receiving a steady stream of enquiries and bookings. Our 2023
Facilitator Team is the largest team yet with a focus on diverse
practices and locations enhancing our capabilities and reach.
With all of this and more in store, we look
forward to continuing to support and engage with you all in what is
sure to be an exciting year of artistic programs and regional
engagement.
