Thanks Councillor
Melissa Westcott for the great feedback!
"The exhibition
showcases the winning and finalist artworks, highlighting the diverse
creative talent from artists across regional Queensland.
Was a wonderful chat about
the love of art we all share but also the struggle of artists to turn
their passion into one of impact.
The creativity on offer at

Terrific feedback from
participants of this sold out workshop with Michelle
Turner, QRAA winner and Flying Arts facilitator:
"Michelle is an
exceptionally skilled workshop presenter...The majority of participants
were new to watercolour, and it is a testament to her skill as an
instructor that all participants produced beautiful, unique, and
complex pieces.
Honestly, she was brilliant,
I can’t recommend highly enough, and I’m astounded that that was her
first attempt. People who have been presenting arts workshops for years
are rarely as good as Michelle."

Lincoln Austin’s artworks
reveal systems of making and codes of construction, and invites you to
experience relational sensorial fields of abstract colour and form and
perceptively co-construct them – playfully following the logic of
design, meeting material limits, and imagining infinite recurrent
possibilities. From intricate miniature assemblages to expansive
installations to integrated architectural expressions, Austin’s works
play across scales and materials, energising space, light, and time.

Professional Development
Programs
We're thrilled to share the
feedback from Cara-Ann Simpson, the facilitator of our recent
Professional Development Workshop in collaboration with Townsville City
Galleries.
Here's what Cara had to say
about the workshop:
"This was a great program to facilitate ... The artists were also
deeply engaged with my practice and eager to hear about how I
approached project planning and budget matters (i.e., procurement)
within specific projects. The handbook was greatly appreciated by the
participants, and the participants valued it as an asset to continue
developing their skills outside of the workshop..."
Here is some of the
great feedback from participants!
"Very Informative"
"Great content, great flow."
"So much knowledge,
thank you Cara for an amazing session, so much to take home & put
into action." "Informative, practical and in-depth
detail."
"Really engaging
session! Cara-Ann was so thorough, and I appreciate how hands-on the
session was, and that we received a great handout."

Successful Quick Response
Grant recipient Jay Wymarra has performed
his quasi-musical, comedic cabaret special at the Melbourne Internal
Comedy Festival (MICF)!
Wymarra's one-man-show underwent a creative development and media asset
development in August to October 2023.

Jay Wymarra stated, “RAF
funding was a modest yet critical mechanism to realise National
opportunities, in a very competitive performing arts market, and allow
me to aim high for the life of the work. RAF funding has kicked our
butts into action, and we’ve now got 12 shows in the Southern
hemisphere’s greatest comedy festival.”
