Welcome
to 2022! It’s already February and we know for many of us the year has
not kicked off as planned but Flying Arts are here to assist you to
achieve your creative goals, whatever they may be!
We
are excited to launch the year with the opening of Paint
the Town, a touring exhibition of the 2021 Queensland
Regional Art Awards. Cairns audiences will be treated to an
award-winning selection at the exhibition opening weekend 25 -
27 February, Cairns Court House
Gallery. Over the weekend you can participate in a
suite of public programs, so get ready to paint the town! Learn more
Our
2022 Annual Program is now live, with
an amazing line up of programming. From grants and professional
workshops to grow your creative business to experimenting with new
artforms and engaging with your community, at Flying Arts we aim to
have something for everyone.
This
year sees the commemorations for Flying Arts 50th Anniversary continue
through to October 2022. Stay tuned as we still have more planned as we
celebrate half a century of connecting artists, educators and
communities.

Our
ever-popular Creative Consultations
are back, firstly with Dr Carol McGregor in Cairns followed on
20th May with a session by Liz Nowell, Director
of the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane. This
session will be online so join in from wherever you are located from
your own device. Creative consultations are great to discuss career
advice for artists and arts workers as well as matters most relevant to
you.

30 April and Sunday 1 May with Dr Louise R Mayhew for our Artist Essentials Program,
a 2-day intensive program, designed for early-career artists and arts

RAF Quick Response Grants

Response Grants aim to support small arts or cultural projects that
cannot be funded by other means because of their nature or timing.
Applications are closing soon for the February round of the Regional
Arts Fund Quick Response Grant. The last chance to
submit your application for the current round is Monday 28
February 2022. Successful applicants will be notified
of round outcomes on 8 March. This type of grant would also suit
