Whether you are new to grant funding or looking to strengthen your next application, this session will provide practical advice, valuable perspectives and direct insight from people who understand how funding decisions are made.

Presenters:

Peter Johnstone is CEO of The Clem Jones Foundation. He is a well-respected philanthropic and community leader with unique experience in both raising philanthropic funds and understanding the value of building donor relationships. Prior to joining The Clem Jones Foundation, he held senior roles in the Queensland Government and was CEO of community organisations such as the Leukaemia Foundation and the Royal Agricultural Society.

Fiona Maxwell is CEO of The John Villiers Trust. She is an experienced CEO, Board Chair, and Director with 20 years’ experience in social-sector leadership and governance.  She is the Queensland Executive Director for FareShare, Australia’s largest charity kitchen, and Deputy Chair of DVConnect, a statewide domestic violence crisis service. She holds a Master’s degree in Arts Administration and has shared her deep expertise in philanthropic strategy and governance by serving on industry peak bodies and grant-making committees.

Leanne McIntyre is the Regional Arts Fund Manager at Flying Arts. She is responsible for planning, delivery and review of the Regional Arts Fund (RAF), an Australian Government Program managed by Regional Arts Australia and delivered in Queensland by Flying Arts. As an experienced curator, she has seen both sides of the grant funding process. Her work in the arts draws on expertise in stakeholder engagement, project management, curatorial practice and human-centred design to develop cultural experiences that connect people with art, place and ideas.
