Solo Exhibition: First Nations Opening

As part of the prize for winning the Annie Tan Watercolour Award at the 2025 Queensland Regional Art Awards (QRAA), Rosie Lloyd-Giblett and Flying Arts present Tread Lightly, Listen Deeply, a solo exhibition at Flying Arts.
This collection of artwork is a compilation of imagery from spending time within Queensland and Northern New South Wales landscapes. The installation seeks to connect the viewer with an experiential subtropical bushland setting. Incorporating the colours of the local sacred kingfisher in flight, splashes of flowering fire wheel blooms and the majestic shedding melaleuca have become embedded within the surfaces. The expressive paintings and lyrical drawings curated with a ceiling suspended lightweight assemblage connect to the symbiotic relationships between the region’s birds and local flora. Listen closely and you may hear the honey eater and fairy wren’s chorus.
The exhibition will run from 8 – 29 October 2026, with an opening event 9 October 10:00am.
Rosie’s winning work of the Annie Tan Watercolour Award is ‘Earth songs that touch the sky’. This work is currently on tour across the state as part of the QRAA Touring Exhibition.
