Suzon Fuks is an artist who bridges art, science and the environment, using body-based practices, the moving image, photography and interactive technologies. Suzon was born in Brussels, and completed her Masters in Visual Arts at La Cambre (79–84).
She has been Co-Artistic Director of the Australian multi-arts organisation Igneous since its inception in 1997. Multi-award-winner, she also received the prestigious Australia Council for the Arts Fellowship and Copeland Fellowship. She initiated and founded the online platform Waterwheel, dedicated to water issues.
In 2015, she was a facilitator of the 30,000+ visitors to Marina Abramovic’s installation “In Residence” in Sydney. The National and Mitchell Libraries have acquired some of her documentary photographs. She has completed residencies in India, Indonesia, Denmark, Germany, France, USA and Chile.
