Rose Rigely and Pam Kusabs are the winners of the 2019 Queensland Regional Art Award. Their winning work, Resource Removal, won the The Holding Redlich ‘Art for Life’ Award.

Rose Rigley: Rose Rigley is Cairns-based artist and arts educator. Her current practice focuses on memory, specifically its influence on the present with remedial interpretations of the past that challenge the role of commonplace objects and interpersonal connections. She utilizes installation, mixed media and sculptural assemblage in a liminal search for beauty through the fragility of ordinary life, while seeking to find the universal in the personal.

Pam Kusabs: Pam is a contemporary basket maker/visual artist who enjoys creating three-dimensional work from predominately natural materials.  She enjoys all aspects of nature and is developing her visual arts practice to encompass still life, and mixed media works of flora and vegetation found in her locality.
