A successful grant application can be transformational in turning your creative ideas into reality. With multiple key funding rounds coming up, there’s no better time to spend a couple of hours improving your skills at this hands-on workshop.
Applying for funding can feel daunting and the effects of the pandemic have made grants programs even more competitive. However, there are proven strategies that can help you put yourself in the best possible position to succeed. In this workshop we’ll breakdown common selection criteria into plain English, work through a project application budget, look at real examples of successful support material and more.
Have a great project idea, but aren’t sure how to get started with an application? Haven’t had a lot of success with past grants? More experienced with grants, but looking for a refresher course? This workshop is for you.
At the end of this workshop you will walk away with:
- An understanding of the current funding landscape and how to find your best fit within it
- A step-by-step process for how to tackle an application for the best result
- A list of funding agencies/programs to consider when thinking about funding
- An understanding of the difference between eligible and competitive applications
- A template that you will have completed for tackling the most common selection criteria
- A budget template and example budget for a project funding application
- An understanding what makes convincing support material, including links to real examples
- Tips & strategies for every stage of the application process
Participants to Bring:
- Questions about arts grants, a draft grant application, or a proposed project plan or budget, or other items to work on during the workshop.
- A laptop or iPad to work on, or notepad and pens.
- Own water bottle and lunch. There are food outlets within a short walk of the venue if preferred.
Please note: Flying Arts cannot provide lunch or snacks at this time.
