The Flying Arts annual exhibition program is designed specifically to provide opportunities for artists, especially regional and remote Queensland artists, to reach out and connect with new audiences and new opportunities.
QRAA Touring Exhibition
The Queensland Regional Art Awards (QRAA) are Flying Arts’ signature annual art awards for established and emerging artists living in regional and remote Queensland. The QRAA feature diverse visual arts categories responding to a selected theme. Launched in 2010, the Awards provide a platform for artists to showcase their work and gain further professional development opportunities.
Since its inception in 2010, Flying Arts has presented an annual touring exhibition of the prize-winning art works.
Each year, Flying Arts partners with Queensland Poetry for the ‘QRAA Ekphrasis Challenge’, inviting Australian poets to enter a competition responding to the winning artworks. The winning poetry is featured on the Queensland Poetry and Flying Arts websites and presented alongside the corresponding artwork in the touring exhibition.
