Due to overwhelming demand for quick-response funding for artists and artsworkers during the coronavirus pandemic, Flying Arts Alliance has announced an extension to Round 3 of the Regional Arts Fund (RAF) Relief grant scheme, open from 9 am on 1 October 2020 and closing at 4 pm on the same day.
Funds originally allocated for Quick Response grants in 2021 have been brought forward to meet immediate needs.
Relief grants are designed to assist Queensland regional artists, arts organisations and communities to meet their immediate requirements, including asset replacement or purchase, support for arts practice (including self-directed residency/research and development), small projects and professional development opportunities.
Funds are strictly limited. Please note applications for RAF Relief Round 3 Extension will be assessed, and funding allocated, in the order in which applications are received. Acknowledgement of this process is a condition of submitting a funding application.
See RAF Guidelines for full funding terms and conditions.
Applications for RAF Relief Round 3 Extension will have a quick turnaround for assessment within five working days, with successful applicants to be notified on Monday 12 October 2020.
Interested applicants for RAF Relief Round 3 Extension are advised to prepare attachments, supporting documents and application draft prior to the grant opening on 1 October. A preview of the application form is available here.
Relief grants are part of the RAF Recovery Boost, a $10 million targeted measure announced by the Australian Government in 2020 as part of the Relief and Recovery Fund. It responds to the difficulties experienced by regional artists, arts organisations and communities who have been heavily impacted by COVID-19. The Recovery Boost is one-off funding and will be delivered through the Regional Arts Fund and seeks to offer short (Relief), medium (Recovery) and long-term (Renewal) support.
