Our final young artist program for 2017, ArtizPUBLIC, saw a talented group of 9 young artists from across Queensland and Melbourne create their biggest work yet.
Working collaboratively, the group designed and painted a 30m wall around the theme ‘equality’ featuring aerosol painting and stencil techniques learnt in the program.
Artists Ian McCallum and Jordan Hart guided participants in developing their concept then creating their very own street art mural at the University of Southern Queensland, with inspiration from touring some of the 2017 murals from Toowoomba’s First Coat festival.
For students aged between 14-18 years in high school, Artiz provides the perfect opportunity to discover exciting opportunities in the arts as well as have fun with new tools and materials whist making life-long friends. The program will be on offer again in 2018 with registrations due to open in late April.
