F A Q’s – Colour and Response Tour and Exhibition Project

You are here: Home / F A Q’s – Colour and Response Tour and Exhibition Project

Q & A’s – I’ll be adding to this list as more questions come in

Q: Is a catalogue part of the of the project who and what money is allocated?

A: There is no provision in the funding for a Colour and Response catalogue. However we will be sending out copies of Merv’s Colour Retrospective Exhibition catalogue (that will be for sale) with the tour.

Q: Is it two distinct exhibitions?

A: Essentially yes, however we’d like to create a connection via the branding that will bring the two shows together under the one umbrella.
We are looking to keep the branding for the didactics/exhibition signage/invitations/marketing on the same design templates for both exhibitions, (templates which we will provide)

Q: What didactics are coming with the exhibition?

A: Didactics will be provided for Merv’s touring artworks. We will plan for a main didactic with a blurb on Merv’s work, background story and explanation of the project.
Each gallery will need to provide your own didactics for the artworks and curatorial statement for your Response Exhibition – Flying Arts will provide a template to keep the signage all uniform.

Q: Can Mervyn conduct workshops before the exhibition date?

A: In theory yes, however, as we’ll be bringing Merv up from Wallagoot in NSW, we only have the budget to bring him up once to each centre. So if you want him to visit prior to the exhibition we would not have the funds to bring him back for the exhibition opening.
Also it is worth keeping in mind that whilst Merv is well and fit, he is in his 81st year, so I would be mindful of planning his schedule to not be too taxing.
