Outback Connections is a body of work created in response to Ruby Purple’s Artists Residency at Curtin Spring Station in the Central Australian Desert in the Northern Territory.
Ruby designs and creates artworks from native grasses, handmade papers, found materials, inks and paint. She aims to bring awareness to the importance of preserving our natural word in her ‘Taking Art to the Regions’ project, and sharing what she knows with rural and remote communities. Dogwood Crossing Gallery in Miles is the fifth gallery to showcase Outback Connections with workshop opportunities also being offered.
Opening Event: Friday 23 August 6:30 pm at Dogwood Crossing Gallery, Miles.
Thanks to the support of generous donors, and the Australian Cultural Fund through Creative Partnerships Australia, Ruby’s dream of taking art to the regions is a reality.
