Creative Practice Development

Flying Arts individual mentoring sessions aim to assist artists located anywhere in Queensland with one-on-one support.  We offer tips and skills development to help evolve your creative practice. 

Flying Arts offer a free initial telephone consultation with our By Request Lead who will match you to one of our qualified Facilitators with the relevant industry experience for your needs.

These sessions are provided online and can cover topics such as:

• Feedback on your current approaches, methods and work.
• Tips on writing about your practice eg. statements, website, proposals etc.
• Strategies for marketing and presenting your work.
• Support for exhibition or grant applications.
• Guidance in developing concepts.
• Other development subjects agreed between artist and mentor.

I participated in online mentoring sessions facilitated by Flying Arts as I had just completed an Honours year of study and felt that I would benefit from some mentoring to help me expand my practice into the contemporary art scene.  My sessions organized by the By Request Program helped me clarify my position as an artist who has something to say – something that is worth the while of others to stop, hear and see. I gained insight into the benefits of setting up a website and social media platforms. I also received helpful written feedback and advice about setting up a website, including links to other platforms like social media to gain fresh ideas and broaden my own vision.  Thankyou!
