Photos and Feedback for ArtizDIGITAL 2016

“The program was really good! I learnt lots of new things and it was really interesting being able to listen to different artists and their careers. It has really opened my eyes.”

ArtizDIGITAL @TheEdgeQLD 2016
“I loved the practicing artists and what they had to teach us. I liked how easy it was to learn new things. I got to make new friends :)”
ArtizDIGITAL @TheEdgeQLD 2016
“I extremely enjoyed the growable workshop in which we worked with pieces of dried kombucha. It was really fun to make the earrings by incorporating the different medium I hadn’t worked with previously.”
ArtizDIGITAL @TheEdgeQLD 2016
“It’s a great place to learn new skills and think about your future careers.”
ArtizDIGITAL @TheEdgeQLD 2016
“[I most enjoyed the] Old School [workshop] because I like to create things that are delicate and are repetitive. Working with the artist was very interesting and she was very helpful.”
ArtizDIGITAL @TheEdgeQLD 2016
“I came to the program thinking I would feel out of place but there was a very welcoming presence.”
ArtizDIGITAL @TheEdgeQLD 2016
“It was organised very well. There were set times and we always knew where we needed to be but at the same time it was like we had this sense of freedom which was really nice.”
ArtizDIGITAL @TheEdgeQLD 2016
“[It was] Very well planned out and each presentation was interesting and unique.”
ArtizDIGITAL @TheEdgeQLD 2016
“Enjoyed all activities! The ones that allowed more hands-on independent work such as jewelry and wearables were equally as rewarding as the group work such as the sound and paper one.”
ArtizDIGITAL @TheEdgeQLD 2016
“The program was really good! I learnt lots of new things and it was really interesting being able to listen to different artists and their careers. It has really opened my eyes.”
ArtizDIGITAL @TheEdgeQLD 2016
“[I’d recommend Artiz] Because it allows young artists to more easily interact with tools and people they would not normally meet or use.”
ArtizDIGITAL @TheEdgeQLD 2016
“It was awesome!”
ArtizDIGITAL @TheEdgeQLD 2016
“I really enjoyed the program. It was a great experience. All the teachers were really helpful and gave quite good advice. A large range of different types of programs was included, so that was really good to learn what I do enjoy and what I don’t so much.”

ArtizDIGITAL @TheEdgeQLD 2016 was an exciting visual arts development program for Queensland high school students. In this arts-intensive program delivered at The Edge, State Library of Queensland, students explored new areas of critical artistic practice, learned new skills and experimented with new approaches to art making.

Over the three days, participants engaged in a series of experiential and practical workshops to investigate four separate areas of emerging art making – movable, wearable, growable and renewable.

This fully supervised program was intended for high-school students and equivalent.
