Vanessa Parisi attended Artiz Digital (now Artiz Innovative) and Artiz Public in 2016. She’s now a first year student at the Queensland University of Technology, studying Marketing and Interactive and Visual Design. Vanessa popped by the Flying Arts office this week to chat about how Artiz has helped shape her career path today!
“I already had a strong idea in why I wanted to attend the Artiz programs, but it really opened my eyes to the arts. The industry is bigger than what you see. Artiz gave me the opportunity to experiment with tools and materials that I’d never used before, as they are not available in school. Even the drawing workshop gave a another spin on how portraiture can be approached differently.
I highly recommend signing up as a residential participant – it just gives you the chance to make friends as well as do extra activities and have social time. I still keep in touch with a few of the program participants.
It was hard to approach my parents about attending the first program, as it does have a cost involved, but after they saw how excited I was from attending, they signed me up straight away to the program again later in the year!”
The Artiz Innovative and Artiz Public programs for 2017 are now open for registration.
