The Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAA) is Australia’s longest running and most prestigious Indigenous art awards that captures the attention of the nation. Each year sees an increasing variety of art forms and media, collectively demonstrating the richness and diversity of current contemporary Indigenous artistic practice, and the pre-eminence of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, nationwide, within the visual arts.
Firmly established as a critical event on Australia’s cultural calendar, MAGNT’s Telstra NATSIAA attracts an audience of more than 65,000 visitors each year. The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) with Telstra deliver this unique showcase of the best in Indigenous art from across the country.
The 36th Telstra NATSIAA aims to showcase the very best Australian Indigenous art from around the country. The Awards are open to emerging and established Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. There is no particular theme or restriction regarding work that can be entered.
