Last year tested and challenged the Queensland Arts Sector in ways never experienced before. It also highlighted great resilience, collaboration, and innovation in the arts’ response to the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19) as well as significant environmental, economic and social issues.
Despite the disturbance and restrictions of COVID-19, the overwhelming support of our community, including our program participants, patrons, partners, donors and board, ensured we stayed in the air during a time of unforeseen turbulence.
When restrictions eased, this support meant Flying Arts was one of the first to implement COVID-19 Safe plan for workshops and events, ensuring our team was confident in delivering COVID-19 safe activities on the ground.
Some of our key achievements during 2020 include:
- 118 activities delivered to
- 5,201 participants and
- 14,259 exhibition attendees (including 9,000 online gallery attendees),
- across 32 unique locations across regional and remote Queensland

Help us to continue transforming lives through art
Your support directly sustains and transforms lives across the state, providing opportunities for art practice and keeping the dream alive of a life in art.
Your tax-deductible donation of $2 or more will support Queensland’s artists, artsworkers, educators, schools and communities by improving our programs that enhance careers, hone practices, build professional pathways, and engage young people in enriching arts programs.
Perhaps most importantly, at this very pivotal time in history, it will enable us to ensure that arts experiences and professional development for those who wish to pursue art as a lifetime interest or career remains accessible for all Queenslanders.
