Mike Mitchell is the Director of Mitchell Fine Art in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. After operating galleries in both Darwin and Alice Springs in the Northern Territory for over 20 years he opened Mitchell Fine Art in Brisbane in 2015. He has a history of curating and presenting exhibitions around the world over the past 25 years. These included commercial galleries, Australian Embassies and Museum shows.  

Mike Mitchell can provide career advice for artists, arts workers, writers, producers. In particular, Mike can provide specific advice on:

  • Mapping your career goals, strategies and direction
  • Discussing project or exhibition ideas
  • Gaining feedback on your portfolio

Use these 45 minute sessions to discuss matters most relevant to you.

Please bring questions, CVs or resumes, resources, artwork, portfolios or other items to discuss during your consultation. You will have the option to provide these to Flying Arts in advance of your session.

Mitchell Fine Art presents an annual exhibition calendar of solo and group exhibitions and holds regular exhibition openings and artists talks. The gallery boasts a stable of leading Australian contemporary artists across a broad range of styles. Mike Mitchell has over 35 years’ experience working with Aboriginal people which has resulted in a deep understanding of Aboriginal people, their culture, and their art. As such Mitchell Fine Art has a strong commitment to the promotion of both Aboriginal art and culture. He also has a strong commitment to education on the visual arts across all genres and strives to nurture emerging talent and promote Australian art and artists around the world. His business is founded on strong working relationships with all its artists and clients.
